Manleys
This was a really fun project. I've always had a love for Wallace and Gromit and that handcrafted, tactile approach. So for Manleys' annual Christmas card/emailer I thought I'd do something a bit different. I decided to create our own little winter wonderland set. About 3 weeks later and a mountain of plastercine and talcum powder used, I'd converted our spare studio into the Manleys christmas set.
The set was constructed from flat foamboard and then covered with sheets of white paper. To achieve the snow effect I mixed talcum powder and granulated sugar together. The powder gives the consistency of snow and the sugar helps add that glint to it.
Each of the models and buildings were handcrafted by myself. Once these and the set were complete I setup the creative lighting and shot different parts at different exposures in order to achieve the results I wanted.
